TL;DR
Submit a meet is the headline: paste an Instagram link and the form does more of the work. After that — status lookup, cross-device sync, Near me that sorts right, and a web footer that finally makes sense.
What's new
- Submit a meet — AI that actually helps. This is the big one. Paste an Instagram post URL (Share Extension handoff counts too) and we fetch the flyer, run vision prefill to read title, date, venue, times, and schedule details off the image, and mirror the cover so you’re not re-uploading screenshots. What lands in the form is a draft you can edit — not a blind submit. Still review everything before you hit send — AI gets car meets wrong sometimes. So do humans. I’m just saying.
- Cross-device sync — still no account. Menu → Copy sync ID on one device, Link this device on the other. Saved meets, inbox, and submit drafts can follow you across phone and browser without making you pick a password you’ll forget before the next Cars & Coffee.
- Web footer that actually navigates.
SiteFooteron public pages: Browse (meets, map, saved), More (inbox, blog, submit), Legal & help (support, privacy, terms, get the app). Native shell keeps the tab bar for wayfinding; Menu keeps credits + beta there instead of duplicating the whole footer. Cleaner, less “where did Home go.” - Inbox: tap to mark read. Unread rows can be marked read so the badge stops lying. Menu inbox dot updates when you clear stuff.
- “Near me” on the home feed — and sorting that respects distance. Toggle Near me from the filter chips (same energy as the map). When location is on, meets sort by how far they are, then by start time — not “whatever order the database felt like today.” Map browse uses the same logic so home and map stop arguing.
- Submission status without sliding into my DMs. New public
/submit/statuspage: look up what happened to your meet with the email or handle you used, plus the optional device sync ID (auto-filled on this browser). Same rows show up in Inbox on web and iOS when we’ve got something to say. - Privacy & Terms — May 21, 2026. Updated for sync IDs,
/submit/status, web inbox, Nominatim on the public submit form, and cross-device linking. Both pages now tuck older revisions into a changelog accordion so the top stays readable and history doesn’t vanish.
What's new (but you'll never see it)
Robust install ID handling, mark-read inbox mutations, a small army of Instagram fetch + vision server modules, Nominatim query normalization tests, public meets revalidation helpers, and the retirement of alternate iOS app icons (RIP). Plus the usual cron/APNs error-handling hygiene so 3 a.m. deploys hurt slightly less.
Privacy policy
Material updates effective May 21, 2026 — sync ID creation on web and iOS, voluntary cross-device linking, submission status lookup, web inbox rows, and expanded Nominatim disclosure on the public submit form.
